Caleb & John, Steven Curtis Chapman - Proud

Verse

Here I am again back in these shadows I know all too well

Fightin' back all those dark whispered lies that echo from hell

They say you're never gonna be anything more than these

Stupid mistakes that you make

Then the voice of love says

Child lift up your head

And you smile and call me by name

Chorus

You say you're... Proud of me

'Cause I'm a trophy of your perfect love

You're not lookin' down at me

You tell me your mercy is more than enough

You took all my shame and you gave me your name

When you nailed my sin to your tree

That's why you're proud of me

Verse

Could it really be true that you're singing a song over me

While you're telling the angels about the way you set me free

Is that smile that I chase already on your face

The moment I say I believe

Chorus

You say you're... Proud of me

'Cause I'm a trophy of your perfect love

You're not lookin' down at me

You tell me your mercy is more than enough

You took all my shame and you gave me your name

When you nailed my sin to your tree

That's why you're proud of me

Bridge

I was trying so hard then you showed me your scars

And you told me it's already done

And you meant what you said, it's out of my hands

I know that no matter what

Chorus

You will be... Proud of me

'Cause I'm a trophy of your perfect love

You're not lookin' down at me

You tell me your mercy is more than enough

And you're telling the story of your grace and glory

I'm yours... and that's all you need to make you

Proud of me

Oh, thank you Jesus
